Councilman Kirk Mullen of West Reading Pennsylvania was apprehended last week for robbing a drug store in his own area. Mullen apparently covered his confront with a ski mask throughout the break-in while stealing $16,395 worth of narcotics from the store.
Berks County District Attorney John Adams claimed there as no proof that Mullen had a tool, but authorities were able to get pill containers from his home.
“I believe this is a timeless instance where a private burglarized a shop for one thing and something just — — prescription opioid tablets, which are harmful and extremely habit forming. We are all somewhat shocked and shocked that we have an individual that was a public authorities to be involved in this sort of crime. It’s concerning, and to say the least, uncommon,” Adams informed WFMZ.

The criminal activity was eventually fixed by safety and security camera footage, which revealed Mullen in the shop on countless other celebrations without a mask. Monitoring video footage from neighboring buildings also revealed the suspicious operating in the direction of Mullen’s home.
The break-in was explained in court files:
“The suspect, later recognized as Mullen, strolled right into the medication store and announced, “This is a burglary,” and ordered numerous staff members to place their hands up and to open up a closet where narcotics were stored. Mullen is currently being held at Berks County Prison on $200,000 bond.
