The terrible sense of life is paradoxically not terrible at all, at the very least in the Big Picture. We are just signing up with the terrific parade of mankind that has actually strolled ahead of us and will adhere to after us. The heartbreaking sense of life is not repudiation, fatalism, resentment, or pessimism.
